BIOGRAPHY
Lukas Katilius is a student at Vilnius University. Currently he is studying journalism.
He wants to become a journalist because he feels that he has a great potential in this sphere. He does not have any experience when talking about journalism, but his character is just made to be a journalist. Lukas thinks that experience is something that you can gain but character qualities are special and you can not learn them.
The two biggest strengths of his character that Lukas cherishes are speaking and listening. Of course, if you want to be a journalist you have to be able to speak inclusively and find similar interests with your interviewee. Lukas thinks that he is not only able to speak but also to listen and give answers to your interviewee. That is really essential because you will never get into a situation that your interviewee will get bored. The conversation will have a variety of colours and interests.
You can never forget loyalty as a mandatory trait for a journalist. Lukas knows about loyalty because from 2015 until 2017 he was the president of student council in the Baisogala gymnasium. He was loyal to his represented students. Even on hard times, for example, when the authority did not want to let the student council organise a disco at the gymnasium, Lukas remained strong and stood by the ones who elected him – the students. He did not want to be a toy of the administration so he fought until the very end and gave his school a memorable Halloween disco party.
One thing that may surprise you about Lukas is that he is not a standard guy. At school, for three years he was attending a traditional Lithuanian folk dance club. He participated in two national events called Dainų šventė. Also, he had one of the most memorable times in his life when he was attending a drama club. The performance was in Lithuanian but the club was able to travel all the way to Riga. So, arts and traditions are the biggest thing that might surprise people about Lukas.
